Jacob & Co. Launches New Epic X Chrono Sky Blue





In early January, Watch of Switzerland Group announced its first partnership of the year, with Watch of Switzerland and MAYOR boutiques becoming the exclusive retailers of the new Epic X Chrono Sky Blue from jewelry watchmaker Jacob & Co.

The new sky blue watch is the latest addition to Jacob & Co.’s Epic X Chrono collection. The collection is known for its multiple colorways – including white, orange, yellow and green versions – and while this latest sky blue model is exclusive to Watch of Switzerland Group, the brand has previously collaborated with Bugatti and soccer star Lionel Messi on men’s collections, as well as a range of different standalone products.

The Epic X Chrono Sky Blue features a polished 47mm case that combines titanium and rose gold for an overall distinctly masculine style. The model features large integrated crown guards and chronograph pushers, a large stylized crown at 3 o’clock for adjusting the time, and a crown with a tread pattern at 10 o’clock for rotating the curved inner bezel. These elements are finished in the watch’s namesake sky-blue rubber.

On the skeletonized blue dial, you’ll find four rose-gold lines running across the mechanical dial, broken up by two satin-anodized aluminum subdials—a seconds hand at 9 o’clock and a parallel 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. Surrounding the dial are two large skeletonized hands coated with Super-LumiNova, while a thin, contrasting red hand counts the seconds.

Inside the watch is the Jacob & Co. JCAA05 caliber, a skeletonized movement exclusive to the brand that offers a 48-hour power reserve. Highlights of the automatic movement, visible through the sapphire caseback, include the open barrel, polished and circular-grained bridges, and the dark grey rotor that keeps the watch powered.
