Then DeCosta took the cousin of NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown. A standout in his own right, Marquise Brown scored 17 touchdowns in two years with the Sooners and had a pair of 1,000-yard seasons.“What are the chances a guy who had to walk to work and fight his way just to get to junior college ends up being the first receiver taken?” Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley said. “I’m thrilled for him and his opportunity. He’s going to bring a lot to the Baltimore Ravens. Roberts has a career total of 1,826 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns with a season-high of 494 yards in 2018. Most of his production has come from the slot, which is interesting since Willie Snead IV is primarily a slot receiver as well. This move adds some extra insurance to a wide receiver corps filled with question marks Justin Tucker Ravens Jersey , as only Snead and Chris Moore have previously caught passes in a regular season game. Adding Roberts should not affect General Manager Eric DeCosta’s strategy for the draft, especially since it is only a one-year deal. Baltimore still desperately needs a wide receiver to add to the group, as Snead is still by far the best option.Roberts has been criticized for drops, which is a trait that has plagued the Ravens receivers for as long as anyone can remember. Still, the addition of Roberts is a low-risk move that could turn into a solid signing. This also helps to avoid reaching on a wide receiver in round one of the draft, although taking a receiver early should still be a priority. Since he was released, signing Roberts does not affect Baltimore’s compensatory picks, which is something the organization has shown an affinity for over the years. That doesn’t look like it will change under DeCosta either.
