The Cowboys released a statement confirming Pughs passing, which the team said was from natural causes. Pugh spent his entire 14-year NFL career with Dallas after joining the Cowboys as an 11th-round draft choice in 1965. The North Carolina native played in 183 regular-season games and recorded 95 1/2 sacks, the sixth-highest total in franchise history.
