Chris Salamida returned to the mound at Shaw Park and gave the Goldeyes the start of a champion. One of the stars of Winnipegs 6-0 playoff run, a run that took the Fish all the way to the 2012 American Association championship, Salamida came out of retirement last night and pitched six solid innings, allowing just one run on six scattered hits, as the Goldeyes drilled the Trois-Rivieres Aigles 8-3. With the win, in front of 6,154 spectators at Shaw Park, the Goldeyes evened the four-game series with Trois-Rivieres at a win apiece and improved to 32-32 on the season, still third in the American Associations North Division. The Fish are now 3-2 after the first five games of this 11-game homestand. "Coming into the game, I had such an adrenalin rush. It was awesome," said Salamida, who has been pitching and playing centerfield with the Albany Athletics in the Albany Twilight League, a mens amateur loop in upstate New York. "I could compare it to my first pro start in the Astros organization in Troy, N.Y., just a few miles from my house. After the first pitch, though, I settled down. I was out there having fun, staying loose and staying focused. I was enjoying myself." Trois-Rivieres actually opened the scoring with a run in the top of the fifth, but the Goldeyes answered with three in the bottom of the inning. Casey Haerther led off with a single, Josh Mazzola got credit for an infield hit and then Fehlandt Lentini laid down a sacrifice bunt. However, Aigles starter Jeff Shields got off the mound quickly and turned to throw to third, missed his target and sent a bullet into the Goldeyes bullpen. Haerther and Mazzola scored and Lentini wound up on third. Luis Alen singled home Lentini and Winnipeg had a 3-1 lead. In the sixth, the Fish stretched the advantage to 4-1, as Ray Sadler walked, Ryan Scoma singled and Sadler came home on a base hit by Haerther. In the seventh, Alen led off with a single, stole second and scored on a single by Kevin Moesquit. Then Ray Sadler stood up and blasted his 14th home run of the year, a two-run bomb, to give Winnipeg a 7-1 lead. In the eighth, with Josh Mazzola at third, Fehlandt Lentini singled home Winnipegs eighth and final run. Salamida (1-0, 1.50 ERA) picked up the win for Winnipeg, while Shields (0-3, 4.19 ERA) suffered the loss. Brendan Lafferty pitched a scoreless seventh, Chris Kissock cruised through the eighth and Patrick Keating gave up a two-run homer to Jon Smith in the ninth. It was Smiths 14th bomb of the season. Haerther and Alen led the Goldeyes offense, an offense that pounded out 13 hits. Haerther went three-for-four with a run scored and an RBI, while Alen also went three-for-four with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base. The Goldeyes and Aigles will meet in Game 3 of this four-game series on Sunday, 1:30 p.m. at Shaw Park. Matt Rusch (5-3, 4.47) will get the start for Winnipeg, while Garrett Bullock (4-3, 2.83 ERA) will take to the mound for Trois Rivieres. Air Max Plus Online . Vettel was 0.168 seconds faster than Red Bull teammate Mark Webber around the Suzuka circuit. Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was two tenths of a second off Vettel. Hazard cut in from the left and scored with a swerving right-footed shot for ninth goal of the season, which proved to be enough for the victory despite Chelseas forwards again lacking a cutting edge up front. Derek Carrs impressive sophomore season was only a first step. The Oakland Raiders are a fashionable pick to make the playoffs and even win the AFC West thanks to a quarterback who appears on the verge of becoming an upper-tier player for the next decade.Carr threw for 3,987 yards, 32 touchdowns and posted a 91.1 passer rating in 2015, helping the Raiders improve from 3-13 in 2014 to 7-9. Hes been on the rise and could get better as he continues to master coordinator Bill Musgraves system and develops more continuity with a supporting cast that features wide receiver Amari Cooper. Here are other players who could be trending upward in 2016:David Johnson, RB, Cardinals: After getting only 32 carries in the first 11 games, Johnson took over as the starter following an injury to Chris Johnson and put together a fantastic three-game stretch: 378 yards rushing, 3 TDs, 11 catches, 94 yards receiving. Theres plenty of hype surrounding the dynamic runner as he enters his second season. Hes big, strong, fast and shouldnt disappoint.Mike Evans, WR, Buccaneers: Evans caught more passes for more yards but had far fewer TDs in 2015 (three) than he did his rookie season (12). He also led the team in dropped passes. But Evans should thrive in new coach Dirk Koetters system, which helped Roddy White and Julio Jones become superstars in Atlanta. Evans and quarterback Jameis Winston have a yyear together so expect them to develop into one of the top QB-WR tandems in the league.ddddddddddddLael Collins, LG, Cowboys: Collins lost millions when he went from being a projected first-round pick in 2015 to an undrafted free agent because of off-field issues. Dallas gambled on his talent and Collins started 11 games his rookie season. He can eventually make up that lost money by playing like a guy whose name is called by Commissioner Roger Goodell.Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Packers: He led the team with 100 tackles and added three sacks and two interceptions in his second season after a strong rookie year in 2014. Clinton-Dix should take the next step forward this season and earn a trip to Orlando for his first Pro Bowl.Ryan Shazier, ILB, Steelers: Staying healthy was Shaziers biggest challenge his first two seasons. He missed the first four games last year after missing parts or all of nine of the final 14 games his rookie year in 2014. When hes on the field, hes outstanding. Shazier had 13 tackles, forced two fumbles and recovered one in a playoff win over Cincinnati last January. He should become the next dominant force for the Steel Curtain.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org---Follow Rob Maaddi on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AP-RobMaaddi cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '
