A lightweight title fight between Eddie Alvarez and Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently being targeted for UFC 205 on Nov. 12 in New York, according to UFC president Dana White.White revealed the potential matchup via social media Tuesday, although UFC officials have not officially confirmed. White did not respond to requests for comment from ESPN.The UFC 205 pay-per-view event is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden. It is an historic event, as it marks the UFCs first trip to New York since a 1997 ban on professional mixed martial arts was lifted earlier this year.Should the title fight become official, Alvarez (28-4) would be making his first title defense. Alvarez also has expressed interest in fighting McGregor, but the promotion is taking a different direction, according to White.
