SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium -- Mercedes has confirmed it is running an upgraded power unit at the Belgian Grand Prix after spending five engine tokens coming into the weekend.The upgraded power unit was fitted to both cars ahead of the start of the first practice session at Spa-Francorchamps, but Mercedes was not willing to go into details about which parts have been upgraded. FIA documents show that both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are running new Internal Combustion Engines, turbochargers, MGU-Hs and MGU-Ks, but that does not necessarily offer an indication of which components are carrying the upgrades.The token spend coincides with Hamiltons grid penalty this weekend after he exceeded the number of turbo and MGU-H components allowed over the course of the season -- a hangover from failures earlier in the season.
